Blogpost #3
Basically in my book the lady has gone to the state capital many many many times. She has done the same thing many times. Over and over and over, she has done this. She has also complained about what she thinks her kids are eating at school once again. I have no idea how this book was published. I would never read this book out of school if I had to. But I am reading it because it's a requirement for this class. Anyways in this book, she has sent the survey with their kids to the school and then they took all of them to the state legislator again. This book is very boring and not very fun to work outside.

What food books would you read?

Which way would you take on school food?

Spice Cake

The preparation of the malaise cake was fun. It was very different and the type of cake I would eat. It takes  a lot of prep and also different spices, like mace, cinnamon, and nutmeg. When mixing everything together make sure you keep the cold ingredients and dry ingredients separate because of glutton formation to early. The after product of the spice cake was disgusting. It was not what i thought it would taste like. To me it tasted like something I would like in my older years to come, having to a quire that special taste for it.
The smell is very good and it was simply divine.

Review #2

In this quarter of the book it has been very different and motivating. This is not like the kind of book I thought it was going to be. It has been very stimulating and eye opening to see what some parents will do to make sure that their kids have a good and healthy lunch. These mom are very outgoing and willing to do anything to make sure that their kids have a whole lunch that caters to their every nutritional needs. They are sending the kids in their childs school a survey and asking them what they think about their lunch, and then sending them to the Board of Educations, to see what they will do about it.

Discussion questions:

Would you ever send your child to school with hundreds of surveys and ask them to hand them out?

Do you think this is a good way to show the school district what people think about lunches?

Do you think the school district is able to make and change their own lunches when the government regulates their food options?

Lunch Wars: A book Review By Logan T

This book was written by the awesome Amy Kalafa! Published on August 18th, 2011, by the Penguin Group out of New York.
This is about 2 mothers who are fed up with what their kids are eating at lunch. They try and press different topics to the school board. They have many different things that they want their kids to eat. More Healthy foods, along with that also they should be eating more yummy whole hearted products like fresh produce.
So far this book as been very boring. There has been no exciting things that have happened so far.

What do you think about school lunches?
Why do you think these parents are the only ones that care what their kids eat?
Do they know something we don't know?
